I called one of my favorite artwork "The Magic Garden of Peace" because this name reflects what I wanted to achieve for myself while I was working on it - the inner peace and I believe I managed it. When I am looking at it, I feel such a tremendous peace in my heart and love for the whole world.

The idea of creating this picture was born in my head while I was walking along Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens. I was amazed at the pearly coloring of the fern there and I decided that one day I would try to depict it. In my life there was an unpleasant moment when I had to deal with the manifestations of my own ego and remind myself that I'm just a human being and I have a full right to be disappointed when my efforts are not appreciated and my expectations are not met.

Strangely, I felt terribly hurt and surprised at my reactions to this. I needed to understand myself and get my inner peace back so I decided to implement a long-conceived project and while I was painting this art I was in constant dialogue with my inner self in order to fully understand myself and regain my lost peace ... But halfway to self-healing, I suddenly realized that this painting needs a butterfly, for me, it has become a symbol of rebirth, liberation from the ego... I painted it the whole week and it helped me to calm down my past weeks frustration, it helped me to understand myself more.

While I was painting, I surrounded myself with burning aromatic candles and nice calm Chinese music.... and my hands did the rest... it was like an amazing Art Therapy for me! When I finished the painting, I felt a tremendous sense of freedom, flight, and love for the whole world.

Frequently Asked Question ---

Where is the best place to hang oil paintings?

Oil paintings do not like direct sunlight. An ideal place for them is a room with ambient lighting. Incandescent bulbs also adversely affect the quality of the painting. Varnish of course protects the paint, but not to that extent. Under the direct sun, it could begin to fade.
Never hang a picture near a stove/oven - it will be very difficult to clean a picture from soot. Air temperature changes may “kill" the painting. Please, do not hang the painting close to the heating appliance. Due to constant exposure to high temperatures, paint may start to crack.

This happens with humidity changes in the rooms. Do not be afraid of this. Place painting on a flat, clean surface with the image down, and wipe the back of canvas with a wet cloth. You do not need “to fill the painting with water”, make sure that the water does not flow from the rag in streams and that no puddles form on the canvas. Just slightly moisten with water - the canvas will immediately stretch evenly. It is necessary to leave the painting in this position until it is completely dry. If this procedure was not enough, then you need to contact a specialist in a framing workshop.
